I was pointed to this story by reader Stephan Cross.
I don’t have OnStar in any of my vehicles so I have no personal experience with the product. In this case the product paid the freight.

    Onstar is really cool technology, I have had it in my last 2 cars and there is certainly a sense of security with it…. Sure seems like something that should be in every vehicle or at least a portable version… maybe an Iphone app that could use the accelerometers run in the background and if a high G event occurs it prompts a call to the device with LatLong available to the call center…

    at any rate, it really is a cool technology
